Good new for the Eagles. They added depth and a young talent to their offensive line yesterday by singing fifth round draft pick, Scott Young. The rookie guard signed a four year contract and will be getting plenty of reps this off-season. He caught Andy Reid’s eye earlier in the year at the NFL combine with setting a record in the bench press by doing 43 reps of 225 pounds. That is a pretty strong guy.

Tight end L.J. Smith had a rough start and end last season for the Eagles. There was progress through out the season but nothing too spectacular. The reason being for his slow progress was the fact he never fully recovered from his back surgery and had lost a step. Smith even admitted to Fox sports that he wasn’t ready. Well it is a new season and with no T.O. I can bet the tight end will be more involved in the passing game. Maybe this time around he will have a break out season.
